The Our Kind of Women coffee table book is a visual coming-of-age love letter to Black women over 40.
Through intimate portraiture and personal reflection of 100 Black women photographed in Atlanta, Washington, D.C, NYC, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles; this book honors the range of Black women over 40 who have lived, endured, evolved, and arrived; women who are redefining what it means to be in their prime.
Each portrait is paired with reflection shaped by culture, memory, faith, beauty, reinvention, and legacy.
This collection features women whose names you may already know; including Terri J. Vaughn, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Bevy Smith, Malinda Williams, former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Avery Sunshine — alongside women you will be introduced to for the first time.
Each story carries equal weight.
Each portrait carries presence.
Together, they form a layered portrait of a generation.
Our Kind of Women is a visual ode to becoming.
This signed pre-order edition includes far more than the portraits you’ve seen.
